Welcome to Wadebridge Fire BrigadeWith this website we hope to promote the role of your local Fire Brigade.
For those who don't know the area, Wadebridge is a town of around 6,300 inhabitants which has recently seen rapid growth and re-development of former industrial areas to retail and housing. Historically an agricultural market town, retail and tourism have taken over as the main sources of wealth and employment.
Wadebridge has had a Fire Brigade for over 100 years, read the full story in the HISTORY section, you will also find a rogue's gallery of past crew members and famous carnival entries.
Our new Community Fire Station, opened in May 2003, provides greatly improved accommodation and facilities for firefighters and visitors, take a virtual TOUR, or enquire about a VISIT.
Take a close look at our APPLIANCES; we have an X reg Mercedes Atego Wtl and an 04 Toyota Hi-Lux L4P.
Photos and details of past INCIDENTS as well as details of recent attendances, subject to brigade approval are also covered.

What do we do?Wadebridge is a fully retained, or part-time, station. each crew member has a pager that is activated by Fire Control when an incident occurs. We then make our way to the station to attend the emergency.
Who does it?Firefighters come from the community they serve. Anyone will be considered, subject to basic fitness levels and aptitude tests. The major requirement is to live or work close to the station. We currently have builders, carpenters, joiners, brewers, designers, carpet fitters, retailers, engineers and IT techs. Some are employed and some self-employed.
